A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed by President Donald Trump against New York officials who want to access his state tax returns.
The state approved a law this year that authorizes officials to release any returns filed in New York if requested by any of three congressional committees.
Trump called the law a partisan attack on his privacy.
The law does not name Trump directly. But New York officials plan to use the law to uncover the president’s finances.
The judge ruled Trump’s lawsuit was baseless, and only sought to “conduct a fishing expedition in hopes of discovering” something.
