U.S. Senators Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut and John McCain of Arizona are calling on the Federal Communications Commission to follow through on its proposal to end its blackout rule.

The blackout rule was implemented in 1975. It can prevent local TV broadcasts of sporting events if not enough fans show up to the game in person.
