Final Conn. health exchange tally is double what was expected

Connecticut’s state health care exchange announced on Thursday that more than 208,000 people signed up during its first open enrollment period. That’s more than twice the number of people Access Health Connecticut expected to sign up. Nearly two thirds of enrollees in the state exchange are signed up through Medicaid. Of the nearly 78,713 people who enrolled in the exchange with a private insurance carrier, 78 percent received a tax subsidy.
