Poll finds strong support for background checks for gun buyers

A Quinnipiac University poll released on Wednesday finds American voters overwhelmingly support universal background checks for all gun buyers by 89 to 9 percent. The result is the same as several other national polls conducted by Quinnipiac in the months after the Newtown, Connecticut, school shooting last December.
