Sergei Rachmaninoff thought his original piano sonata was too long—so in 1931, he revised it. The result is a streamlined version that still delivers all the intensity of the original. Tonight, hear Lang Lang perform that 1931 version of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Sonata No. 2 on 91.1, 107.5 and our music stream.
