American composer Nkeiru Okoye likes to incorporate different influences and styles into her music. Her piece African Sketches draws inspiration from childhood experiences in Nigeria, her father's homeland... and you can hear it tonight after 8 p.m. on 91.1, 107.5, and our music stream.

Julie Freddino is WSHU's program director. She also hosts Sunday Spotlight and produces Sunday Baroque.
