Samuel Barber wrote his Violin Concerto for a young graduate of his alma mater, the Curtis Institute in Philadelphia.  It's become one of the best-loved American concertos, and we'll enjoy it this morning.  Tune in at 9 am on 91.1 and 107.5 FM or our music stream.

Born in Madison, Wisconsin, Kate Remington joined WSHU in December of 2000, and she's been WSHU's Music Director since 2002.
