Greater Bridgeport Youth Orchestras
Violinist Gerald Kim at the WSHU Broadcast Studio last month.

The Greater Bridgeport Youth Orchestras' Concerto Competition was recently presented at WSHU's Broadcast Center. Every soloist who performed was outstanding, but violinist Gerald Kim was selected as the winner! He'll be the soloist at GBYO's spring concert in May. Kate Remington talked with Gerald and with Director Christopher Hisey about the competition and the music.

Born in Madison, Wisconsin, Kate Remington joined WSHU in December of 2000, and she's been WSHU's Music Director since 2002.
