From WSHU's daytime and evening classical programs, Kate Remington and Lauren Rico give you a heads-up on some of the best music they've selected.

Optomistic Prokofiev

Throughout World War 2, Sergei Prokofiev never lost his optomism, or his faith in the essential goodness of mankind.  He wrote his Symphony No. 5 in on month during 1944, and described it as a "Hymn to Free and Happy Man." We'll enjoy it this evening.

Born in Madison, Wisconsin, Kate Remington joined WSHU in December of 2000, and she's been WSHU's Music Director since 2002.
