Important Announcement about WQQQ 103.FM

As you can well imagine, our last fiscal year—which ended on June 30th—was a difficult one for us. Existing financial pressures and the impact of COVID on our fundraising left us with a budget deficit.

In order to manage expenses and position us for the new budget year, we had to take several difficult steps. We instituted salary decreases for WSHU staff, a hiring freeze, and austere spending measures. We also made the decision not to renew our broadcast agreement for WQQQ FM. This means that WSHU ceases broadcasting on 103.3 FM on January 31, 2021.

These decisions were all guided by an unwavering commitment to our mission: to provide programming that informs, inspires and entertains our core audiences in Connecticut and Long Island, NY.

Our friends in Litchfield and Dutchess Counties can continue to listen to our programming in these ways:

Our mission, our dedication to our community, and the quality of our product remain steadfast and unchanged. We invite you to tune in every day as we continue to provide you with trustworthy coverage of the First 100 Days of the Biden administration, the Coronavirus pandemic, and the quest for social justice.
Thank you for listening to, and supporting, WSHU Public Radio.
