A former West Haven councilwoman has been charged with selling opioid drugs outside of her bakery.

Police charged bakery owner Louise Martone and her husband for illegally selling prescription oxycodone pills following a "months-long investigation."

Police said they obtained warrants for the arrests, as well as a search warrant for the bakery.

Martone was the head of the West Haven finance committee until she lost re-election in 2019.
