A Connecticut home care agency has filed a federal discrimination lawsuit against two state social service agencies.

The Center for Transitional Living says the state Department of Social Services and the state Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services complied with prejudicial requests by Medicaid home health care recipients.

Those requests were to not send to homes staff of certain races or national origins.

Jeff Farmer at the home care agency told the New Haven Register what the agencies did "enforces structural racism and hurts the hard-working people in the home care industry."
