Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, as well as his wife, Jill Biden, have tested negative for COVID-19 after undergoing a test following the news of President Donald Trump's positive test early Friday morning.

Biden and Trump had been on stage together Tuesday during their televised debate, and neither were wearing masks. The podiums were more than six feet apart.

Biden sent out a message on Twitter early Friday afternoon stating "I'm happy to report that Jill and I have tested negative for COVID." Earlier in the day, Biden had tweeted his hope for the president and his family to experience a quick recovery.
