Connecticut Prison On Lockdown After COVID Outbreak

A Connecticut prison has been locked down after more than 100 prisoners tested positive for COVID-19.

More than 1,000 inmates are under lockdown at Osborn Correctional Institution in Somers. Officials didn’t go into details on what the lockdown entails.

Some inmates opted out of being tested. Officials said they're being treated as if they are asymptomatic carriers of the virus and are being isolated. At least two inmates at the prison have died after having confirmed COVID-19 infections.

The state Department of Correction began testing everyone incarcerated in prisons, jails and psychiatric facilities last week.

Davis Dunavin loves telling stories, whether on the radio or around the campfire. He started in Missouri and ended up in Connecticut, which, he'd like to point out, is the same geographic trajectory taken by Mark Twain.
