Suffolk County will invest $7 million to resurface county roads and fill potholes.
Officials want to resurface 10 county roads and fill potholes within 48 hours after being reported.
Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone says the investment will make our roads safer.
“When you think about residents who are driving on these roadways, they are not thinking about whether they are driving on a state road or a county road or a town road or village road. When they hit a pothole, they just want to know that the pothole is going to get filled.”
The investment also includes a new 311 call center, where residents can report potholes to the county Department of Public Works. Officials hope the non-emergency call center will help reduce response times and provide residents with status updates.
