President Trump will address a joint session of Congress for the first time on Tuesday evening at the Capitol, around 9:00 p.m.

The address comes a day after Trump gave an outline of his budget plan for Congress, which would increase defense spending and make cuts to domestic programs. Following tradition, House Speaker Paul Ryan invited the president to make the speech to lay out his agenda in the early days of his new administration.

NPR and WSHU Public Radio will be there live – with in-depth analysis and reaction to the address, including the Democrats' response. Online we will feature a live transcript of the remarks, along with NPR journalists' annotations.

Just before, at 8 p.m., join us for a special call-in program leading up to the address with WNYC’s Brian Lehrer and conservative talk show host Charlie Sykes.

Listen live Tuesday night on any of our frequencies: 91.1 WSHU, 89.9 WSUF, 1260 WSHU, 103.3 WQQQ or 1340 WYBC, or you can stream live.
