Stony Brook Men's Basketball Team Punches 1st Ticket To NCAA Tourney

The Stony Brook University Men’s Basketball team has made it to the NCAA tournament for the first time in the school’s history.

Last year, the team made it to the conference finals and lost to Albany with just 1.6 seconds left on the clock. The year before, they also lost in the finals to Albany. For the past 5 seasons, Stony Brook has made it to the conference championship game and fallen just shy of punching their ticket to the big dance. Students were hoping the Seawolves could break the trend this year.

"It would make the entire community come together as a family because we would see our boys out across the country traveling, winning games having fun and really putting stony brook on the map." said Evan Yuson, a student at Stony Brook, "I just want to tell them good luck and make Stony Brook proud."

Stony Brook defeated Vermont 80-74 Saturday in the America East Conference finals.
