Oct. 4: Hector Tobar, 2 p.m., The Study at Yale Hotel, 1157 Chapel St., New Haven, Conn.

Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and author Héctor Tobar will discuss his riveting book, Deep Down Dark: The Untold Stories of 33 Men Buried in a Chilean Mine, and the Miracle That Set Them Free. It tells what happened when a mine collapsed outside of Copiapo, Chile, in August 2010, it trapped miners beneath thousands of feet of rock for a record-breaking 69 days.
