NY senate passes medical marijuana bill

New York State will now permit the use of medical marijuana for some patients. The state Senate approved the measure over the objections of several senators who engaged in a lengthy debate on Friday.

Karen has covered state government and politics for New York State Public Radio, a network of 10 New York and Connecticut stations, since 1990.
