Stamford Mayor David Martin proposes 4.9% tax hike in first budget

First-term Stamford Mayor David Martin is proposing a tax increase of 1.17 mills or nearly 5 percent for the 2014-15 budget year. Martin is presenting his budget to the city’s Board of Finance Monday night. The mayor says his $515 million budget includes funding to fix longstanding structural issues.
