Cellist Ron Thomas is the Artistic Director of the Chestnut Hill Concert series in Old Saybrook. The series begins Friday, Aug. 2, at the Kate Performing Arts Center, and the theme of this year's season is Romantic Masters and those they inspired. Kate Remington talked with Thomas about the turbulent lives these composers led, and how they influenced music that's being written even today.
Conversations with the performers, the conductors, the composers and other people instrumental in creating today's live and recorded classical music.
