The mayor of Bridgeport, Connecticut is asking his community to work together to prevent violence, following two killings and a number of other shootings over the weekend. A 23-year old man was shot and killed on a city street early Sunday. On the same night, a 24-year old woman was killed in a domestic violence incident. Violent crimes and robberies in Bridgeport are reportedly down so far this year, after a double digit reduction last year. But as the summer weather heats up, there’s generally a spike in violent crime.
