This fall’s Artolution exhibition will feature works from the UNHCR exhibition launched at UN Headquarters on World Refugee Day 2024. A companion panel with alumni working in NGOs and related sectors will explore today’s global refugee crisis.

Representative works from their collection will be on view at 1720 Post Rd. and a companion panel discussion will take place at Fairfield Theatre Company on Sanford St.

"She Loves Me" is an award-winning musical romantic comedy that tells the story of two parfumerie clerks, Georg and Amalia, who constantly argue at work - completely unaware that they are each other's secret "lonely hearts" pen pals. The show features music by Jerry Bock, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, and a book by Joe Masteroff. It has been adapted from the 1937 play Parfumerie by Miklós László. Sean Latasa will be directing with musical director Sarah Fay. Auditions are Sept. 14 & 15 or 21 & 22 - Cast of 8 roles plus ensemble for teens thru adults.

Shows are at the theatre on Route 25, next to Brookfield Library, on Nov. 14 thru Dec. on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Reserved seating tickets are $35 for adults, $30 for seniors 65 and older, and $25 for students. They are available online at www.BrookfieldTheatre.org or at the box office. There will also be a free preview on Thursday, November 13 at 8 p.m. for area senior citizens.

Stitching Time features 12 quilts created by men who are incarcerated in the Louisiana State Penitentiary, also known as Angola Prison. These works of art, and accompanying recorded interviews, tell the story of a unique inside-outside quilt collaboration. The exhibition focuses our attention on the quilt creators, people often forgotten by society when discussing the history of the U.S. criminal justice system. Also on view in the gallery will be "Give Me Life," a selection of works by women artists who are presently or have been incarcerated at York Correctional Institution, a maximum-security state prison in Niantic, CT, courtesy of Community Partners in Action (CPA). The CPA’s Prison Arts program was initiated in 1978 and is one of the longest-running projects of its kind in the United States. Founded in 1875, CPA is celebrating 150 years of working within the criminal justice system.

Four friends, three bows, and one pick: High Horse is a progressive acoustic string band blending Bluegrass, Old-Time, and Celtic influences with the energy of alternative rock. Hailing from Boston, MA, High Horse delivers a rollicking romp of great vibes, virtuosic chops, and tight vocals.

Kat Wallace is a Boston-based multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter. Known for her fiddle playing in Rachel Sumner and Traveling Light, she’s now writing and singing her own songs on tenor guitar. Her debut album “Grand Design” marks a new chapter for Wallace, showcasing her Americana influences from legendary songwriters like Gillian Welch and John Prine, as well as centuries-old Celtic and English balladry.
