Art Studio After School Program Tailored to empower Bright, Gifted and Twice Exceptional Kids
Learn new techniques and discover new gifts, with runway for experienced artists to take their art to the next level! Studio Artist Stephanie Niles will introduce a different skill with each project, with support for fine motor needs. Students yet to discover their gifts, with motor planning needs, or ready for a runway as an experienced artist will take their ability to the next level. Ages 10 and up; application required.

Our new After School Program fills the need in our community for after-school programming tailored to the interests of naturally innovative kids like the twice exceptional students we serve, in a nurturing environment that fosters social growth and personal development--and delivered by an expert staff specially trained in the needs of gifted and 2e learners.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORAustin Scelzo headshotAustin Scelzo (Danbury, CT) first studied various fiddle traditions at Mark O’Connor’s Berklee String Camps and over time learned all the bluegrass instruments as well as singing and songwriting. During four years as a middle school music teacher, his bluegrass journey began with performing in CT-based bands and teaching in-person and online. Now full-time in bluegrass, Austin performs with respected veterans The Rock Hearts and the Americana quartet On the Trail, teaches jam camps and has created groundbreaking online instruction materials. He has been named Connecticut Arts Hero and nominated as Mentor of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association.
