Cantica Nativitatis: Nine Centuries Of Christmas Music From the 10th Through 19th Century Sung In Their Original Languages

The Seymour Library welcomes in the Christmas holiday spirit with Richard Franklin Donohue. Mr. Donohue is a trained tenor and historian--he is the President and Program Director of the Cromwell Historical Society

No tradition has yielded a greater collection of music than that of Christmas.

In this program Mr. Donohue will explore this extraordinary repertoire from the 10th through the 19th centuries. Hear carols sung in their original languages of German, Latin, Middle English, French and Modern English with harpsichord accompaniment. Mr. Donohue is a trained tenor who teaches music and specializes in historic music ranging from Middle English carols to 19th century music.
