A Message from WSHU Management

It's an unprecedented time for you, for us here at WSHU, and for our world. We feel deep empathy and concern for everyone who has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic – and those who will be – and we acknowledge the uncertainty and anxiety that you may be feeling.

We are here for you. Baked into our station's culture is "adaptive resilience," or the capacity to remain productive and true to one's core mission, even while adapting to fluid circumstances. We remain committed to being the unifying voice of our region, and serving as your companion and touchstone every day, throughout these extraordinary times. We will continue to bring you thoughtful, measured, and well-researched coverage of the pandemic from NPR. At the same time, the WSHU news team is working diligently, 7 days a week, to report on local and regional implications. And we offer you the alternatives of inspiring music, compelling storytelling, and intelligent humor.

We will continue to be here for you, just as you are here for us. Together, we will indeed make our community a better place to live.

With warmest regards,
George Lombardi and Rima Dael
General Manager and Station Manager

Staffing & Program Updates
We have postponed our Music for the Ages fundraiser, station events and suspended guest interviews in the station. Only essential personnel are at the WSHU studios, with other staff working from home. We know this is one of the most impactful measures we can take to reduce the spread of COVID-19 within our community. Our plans for business continuity were finalized on March 5 and we are glad to report that with a skeleton crew at the studios, we will continue to bring you news and music programs in the coming weeks and months until we are able to return to normal operations.

If we need to make any program changes due to staffing changes for COVID-19, we will share updates via email and post in this space. Please don't hesitate to email us with any questions or concerns.
