  • Erika joined KAZU in 2016. Her roots in radio began at an early age working for the independent community radio station in her hometown of Boulder, Colorado. After graduating from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University in 2012, Erika spent four years working as a television reporter. She’s very happy to be back in public radio and loves living in the Monterey Bay Area.

  • Sue Evans is a broadcast veteran, who began her career on commercial radio at WICC-AM in Bridgeport. She was a Connecticut correspondent/fill-in anchor for 1010 WINS in New York. She attained her dream job as morning anchor at NYC's legendary CBS-FM, where she was the sole anchor on the morning of 9/11 and did public affairs interviews. During that time, Sue also served on the United Nations Committee UNIFEM, which seeks to help women and children in developing countries. Sue made the transition to television at WTNH-Channel 8 in New Haven, where she was a line segment producer and worked with talent and guests. This is Sue's first time on public radio, and she wants you to know she is thrilled to be on the air at WSHU.

  • Jess Kung (they/them) is a production assistant on Code Switch. Previously, they interned with Code Switch and the podcast The Document from KCRW in Santa Monica. They are a graduate of Long Beach State University.
  • Andy Chow is a general assignment state government reporter who focuses on environmental, energy, agriculture, and education-related issues. He started his journalism career as an associate producer with ABC 6/FOX 28 in Columbus before becoming a producer with WBNS 10TV.
  • Jennifer Mitchell studied Music, English and Anthropology at Oberlin College and Conservatory in Ohio. She has worked as News Director for Peninsula Public Radio in Homer, Alaska, and served as news producer in Bangor for Maine Public Radio in 2004. Most recently, she spent four years working in South Africa as a producer, as well as classical music presenter in Cape Town.
  • Monica reports and produces segments on food, health and ethnic culture in Chicago and beyond.
