Residents and a local artist have joined together to paint a Black Lives Matter mural on a New Haven street.
City officials say Saturday's painting is the first of several planned art projects in the city aimed at supporting the racial justice movement.
Artist Kwadwo Adae directed local residents as they painted each letter of Black Lives Matter in bright yellow on Bassett Street.
The New Haven mural is the latest of similar murals that have been painted on city and town streets across the country.
