Connecticut residents will be counted in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s annual Health and Nutrition Examination Survey that started this week.
The survey helps officials develop public health policies and dietary recommendations. It assesses the health and nutritional status of adults and children by combining interviews and physical examinations.
Lieutenant Governor Susan Bysiewicz says Fairfield County is one of 15 counties in the U.S. selected to be surveyed.
“Our little state of Connecticut is one of the top ranked states for the health of our citizens, but we know that there is so much more to do. And we know that some people have great access to healthcare in our state, and some have no access, or less access.”
More information about the survey can be found at the National Center for Health Statistics website.
