Justin Elicker has defeated incumbent Toni Harp to become the next Mayor of New Haven

Elicker defeated Harp, who was seeking her fourth term as Mayor. He becomes the city's 51st Mayor.

Harp was running on the Working Families Party line after she lost the Democratic Primary to Elicker in September.

The 44-year-old Elicker beat Harp by a 2-1 margin. He is a Yale graduate, and previously served as an alderman in the East Rock and Cedar Hill neighborhoods.
