Music Interview: Simon Mulligan Blends Classical And Jazz At Westport Arts Center

simonmulligan.com

On Friday, May 11th, pianist Simon Mulligan and his jazz trio will perform a unique program at the Westport Arts Center that combines Simon's love of classical music by Mozart, Debussy and Chopin, with the George Gershwin Songbook.

Kate Remington talked with Simon about the intersection of classical and jazz, and how hearing both genres of music in one evening is refreshing for both performers and listeners.

Born in Madison, Wisconsin, Kate Remington joined WSHU in December of 2000, and she's been WSHU's Music Director since 2002.
