Video: A CT school becomes an early test of civil rights

In 1833, Prudence Crandall opened a school for African American students in Canterbury, prompting backlash from local residents and leading to her arrest under a state law restricting out-of-state Black students. Her case drew national attention and became an early test of civil rights and access to education in the United States.
