On March 22 at 4 pm the noted virtuoso Masayo Ishigure will highlight a program of traditional Japanese music in the Weston Library’s Sunday Soundscapes series. She has appeared as a guest artist with the Seattle Symphony, the San Diego Symphony, the Hartford Symphony and the New Haven Symphony, and has concertized around the world.
She has been featured in multiple television broadcasts and has recorded along with Yitzhak Perlman and Yo-Yo Ma on the Grammy Award-winning soundtrack from the movie “Memoirs of a Geisha” (SAYURI), composed by John Williams.
Since 2010, Ms. Ishigure has taught koto at Wesleyan University, CT and at Columbia University in NYC.
