To Be an American: The Life and Legacy of Noah Webster @ Danbury Library
To Be an American: The Life and Legacy of Noah Webster @ Danbury Library
Explore the formative years of Noah Webster as he matured amidst the escalating tensions of colonial Connecticut confronting British rule. This period shaped his conviction that American independence hinged on the thirteen diverse colonies sacrificing some sovereignty to create a united front.
The program highlights Webster’s belief that to survive and prosper post-victory, the new “United” States would need to sustain its “more perfect union” during peacetime.
Program presented by a Noah Webster House Museum educator.
