Pulitzer Prize Winner to Deliver Lecture on "Putin's War on Truth"

Guest speaker Vladimir Kara-Murza was jailed for denouncing the war in Ukraine, kept in solitary confinement, and released in 2024.

Join us for a reception with light fare at 5:30pm. The 2026 Marie Colvin Distinguished Lecture will begin at 6pm.

Vladimir Kara-Murza won the 2024 Pulitzer Prize for Commentary for writings from his prison cell for The Washington Post. He was arrested in Moscow in 2022 and sentenced to 25 years for “high treason.” Kara-Murza spent over two years in prison, including 11 months in solitary confinement. He was released in 2024 in the largest prisoner exchange between the U.S. and Russia since the Cold War.
