The Seymour Library is pleased to host again the historian John Cilio. Mr. Cilio will be exploring in a free program on the life of Connecticut transplant Marion Anderson.

Marion Anderson, a Danbury resident, a trailblazing contralto and civil rights activist, left an indelible mark on the world of classical music and the fight for racial equality. From her humble beginnings in Philadelphia to her historic performances at venues like the Lincoln Memorial, Anderson's journey was defined by both her extraordinary vocal talent and her unwavering commitment to breaking down barriers.
