KaiChen Cheng and Calvin Hu at Le Petit Salon de Musique
KaiChen Cheng, flute, and Calvin Hu, piano will present a program featuring works by Claude Debussy, Amy Beach, Lukas Foss and others.
Ms Cheng, a finalist for the 2023 American Prize, has garnered recognition and awards across North America and Asia. She has performed in New York's Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall, the Taiwan National Concert Hall, the China National Centre for the Performing Arts, and the United Nations, to name just a few. More locally, she was Music Director for the 17th LISMA International Music Competition (Long Island School of Music and Arts).
Ms Cheng recently earned a Doctorate in Musical Arts from Stony Brook University, and she shares her passion with students as an outreach artist with The Staller Center for the Arts.
Pianist Calvin Hu is a chamber musician, educator, a recipient of The Chamber Music Silicon Valley Fellowship and The Icicle Creek Chamber Music Festival Fellowship. A passionate educator, Calvin has been a chamber coach with the Young Artist’s Program at Stony Brook University. He recently completed his Doctorate in Musical Arts at Stony Brook University and is currently on faculty at the Geneva Conservatory of Music and the 92NY School of Music
