Jessica Ann Best and Allen Jones are set to bring the timeless melodies of the Great American Songbook to the Valley Presbyterian Church in Brookfield on Sunday, February 23 at 3:00 p.m. This concert, part of the Valley Music Series 2024/25 season, promises to be an unforgettable afternoon of classic tunes and beloved gems that have defined generations of music lovers.
With a program that spans iconic hits by legendary composers such as Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, Frank Loesser, and Johnny Mercer, Best and Jones will perform crowd favorites like "Wonderful Guy," "Someone to Watch Over Me," "Everytime We Say Goodbye," and "They Say It's Wonderful," alongside energetic, danceable numbers such as "Too Darn Hot" and "I've Got You Under My Skin." Known for their distinctive musical range and powerful performances, this dynamic duo brings a fresh and heartfelt interpretation to these timeless classics, making them come alive for audiences of all ages.

About the Artists:
Jessica Ann Best is a versatile cross-disciplinary artist with a wide-ranging career spanning opera, musical theater, and jazz. She was thrilled to perform the alto solos in Handel’s Messiah with Maestro Knapp in 2023. Best has also toured the United States and abroad, including a 2023 tour to Poland, where she performed and directed opera in Rzeszów and Kraków. A champion of new musical experiences, she is the founder of Serenade LLC, where she serves as Artist and Executive Director. She holds a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Music from Nazareth College.
Allen Jones is a talented vocalist, pianist, and guitarist with a diverse musical background. He received his Bachelor’s in theory/composition and voice performance from Capital University Conservatory of Music, and his Master’s in Music Education from the Eastman School of Music. Jones is the recipient of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra’s Choral Director of the Year award and performs regularly with Michael Lasser’s Fascinatin' Rhythm road productions. He has been praised for his musical versatility and has performed nationwide with Jessica Ann Best in a variety of settings, from universities to arts centers.

This will be the third concert in the Valley Music Series’ 2024/25 season, which strives to foster goodwill and community engagement through free, high-quality performances. The duo’s concert offers an intimate opportunity to experience the magic of this beloved genre in a warm and welcoming setting. The Valley Music Series’ mission is to empower goodwill and understanding within our communities by offering free concerts featuring artists from communities near and far. The trio’s performance promises to delight audiences of all ages and all are welcome. The performance is free but a $20 donation is suggested.

Parking is free and the building is wheelchair accessible, all on one level. The doors will open at 2:30. Concert goers will have the opportunity to meet and mingle with the musicians after the concert.
