Jean Sibelius wanted to create something recognizably Finnish, but without resorting to direct imitation of folk music. He captures the landscape and spirit of his native land in his patriotic tone poem, Finlandia. We'll visit during our music today, just after 9 a.m. on 91.1, 107.5 and our music stream.
