Long Island has one of the fastest-growing tech markets in North America. That’s according to the U.S. Commercial Real Estate Services Group.
The report ranked 50 markets in the U.S. and Canada on their ability to cultivate tech talent. Long Island’s technology labor force ranked fifth among up-and-coming markets. The rate at which the region’s talent pool grew was 7% faster in recent years.
The report attributes that growth to an over 50% increase in the number of tech degree completions on Long Island. That means Long Island also attracts more technology firms to open up shop and continue to spur industry growth in the area.
Many of the tech firms on Long Island settle at the Hauppauge Industrial Park – the largest industrial park in the U.S. It houses 1,300 companies and employs more than 55,000 people.
