A lawsuit alleging hostile and sexist conduct by male executives at a Stamford, Connecticut, investment firm has been dismissed after the case was moved to private arbitration. The firm is Point72 Asset Management, owned by billionaire Steven Cohen.
Point72 executive Lauren Bonner brought the lawsuit against her employers. Bonner alleged female employees were harshly mistreated, paid less than their male peers, subjected to repulsive sexist behavior, and passed over for promotion. In one case, an official declared his meetings were “no girls allowed.”
Bonner initially fought the firm’s efforts to move the case to arbitration, saying she wanted her claims aired and adjudicated in public. She remains at the firm as an executive officer.
