Hydro-fracking is used in many natural gas wells around the country, where millions of gallons of water, sand, and chemicals are pumped under the ground  to break apart rock and release gas.

A study  published on Monday in the Journal of Endocrinology  found hormone disrupting activity in the water at drill sites where spills had occurred.
