Blood Donors Needed In Connecticut

American Red Cross officials say there is less than a three-day supply of Type O blood available for patient emergencies and medical treatments. They describe the problem as a “critical shortage.”

Both O positive and O negative are the most in-demand blood types.

The Red Cross says the escalating flu virus prevents some donors from giving. Weather conditions have also canceled many blood drives.

They’re urging donors of all blood types to find a local blood drive or call 1-800-RED-CROSS.

Bill began his radio journey on Long Island, followed by stops in Schenectady, Bridgeport, Boston and New York City. He’s glad to be back on the air in Fairfield County, where he has lived with his wife and two sons for more than 20 years.
