Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont has scheduled a state bond commission hearing for next Wednesday. But funding for local road improvements won’t be on the agenda.
Connecticut cities and towns have been waiting for the past six months for the local road improvement money.
Lamont says they’ll have to wait yet another month. He wants lawmakers to take action on his transportation infrastructure plan before he releases the money.
And lawmakers won’t deal with transportation in a special session next week.
“We want a little bit more time. We’ll get everybody together to do transportation and bonding early in the New Year.”
In the meantime, next Wednesday’s bond commission agenda will include $23.6 million in clean water funds for municipalities, $15 million for the small town economic assistance program, and $5 million for open space grants.
