Tuesday is Earth Day, and once again, one of the key issues that people will be talking about is protecting our clean water. Last month, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency proposed a rule change that would give the federal government regulatory authority over wetlands and streams. The advocacy group Environment Connecticut is about to kick off a door-to-door canvassing campaign to encourage people to support the rule change. WSHU's Craig LeMoult spoke with the group's campaign director, Chris Phelps, about the rule change, and what it would mean.
Here's EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy's video statement about the proposed rule change. McCarthy used to be the commissioner of Connecticut's Department of Environmental Protection.
