From WSHU's daytime and evening classical programs, Kate Remington and Lauren Rico give you a heads-up on some of the best music they've selected.

Classical Music Highlight…but Mommmmmmmmmmm!!!!

Mothers have been making idle threats for centuries…”Your face is going to freeze like that!” “You’ll catch your death of cold!” and “I’m going to tell your father!” Okay, maybe that last one isn’t always so idle, but you get the idea. This afternoon, Antonin Dvorak puts the spotlight on a story about a mother who makes a threat to her bratty child which turns out to be NOT so idle either…Better be good -- and wear clean underwear – “The Noon Witch” is making an appearance this afternoon on 91.1 FM!

For more than 20 years, Lauren has demystified classical music for her audiences by taking it off a dusty old pedestal and putting it into a modern context. She lives on Long Island with her husband and two punky schnauzers.
