Seven Connecticut nursing homes have been fined more than $42,000 since March as a result of ongoing inspections by the state Department of Public Health.
Three of the nursing homes were fined for failing to comply with the CDC’s COVID-19 guidelines. The violations included not having an adequate supply of PPE, failure to properly use PPE, and a lack of proper isolation for residents who tested positive for COVID-19.
Four other homes were cited for non-COVID-related violations.
Governor Ned Lamont ordered the inspection of all 213 nursing homes in the state following the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.
State officials say every facility has been visited at least three times since then.
