Local Author Day at the Milford Public Library: Celebrating Independent Authors

Local Author Day at the Milford Public Library: Celebrating Independent Authors

Saturday, November 5 is Independent Author Day! The Library celebrates our local authors year-round by promoting local works in our Read Local Collection. This collection makes independent and self-published titles available for checkout. For information on the Read Local program, please visit our website, milfordlibrary.org.

We will also be hosting two programs on Saturday, November 5, to celebrate Independent Author Day. From 10:00 am-12:00 pm, Jan Kardys, president of the Black Hawk Literary Agency, will discuss the pros and cons of self-publishing versus traditional publishing, and will offer tips and tricks to get your works noticed. This session is open to the public, no registration required.

In the afternoon we celebrate our own local authors! Stop by the Program Room between 2:00 pm-4:00 pm to meet independent/self-published authors, all with a Milford connection! Our authors will be available to discuss their writing process and answer questions. Titles may be available for purchase.

The library is located at 57 New Haven Avenue, Milford, CT. Questions can be directed to Christine Angeli, cangeli@milfordct.gov
