CLAY WAY TOUR

CLAY WAY TOUR
Litchfield County, CT & Dutchess County, NY –
This fall, immerse yourself in the timeless beauty of handmade ceramics while savoring the splendor of New England’s autumn landscape. On October 18 and 19, from 10 AM to 5 PM, the annual ClayWay Studio Tour invites art lovers, collectors, and the simply curious to explore the work of 25 distinguished ceramic artists at nine unique studios across Litchfield and Dutchess Counties.
From elegant dinnerware and sculptural statement pieces to whimsical teapots, vibrant jewelry, and garden-ready birdbaths, the tour offers something for every aesthetic. Each stop on this self-guided journey showcases both renowned studio hosts and guest artists, providing an unparalleled opportunity to discover new talent and acquire one-of-a-kind works directly from the makers themselves.
As you meander through the countryside at peak foliage season, you’ll step inside working pottery studios where clay transforms into art. The range of styles and techniques is remarkable—wheel-thrown and hand-built, gas- and wood-fired, glazed to matte, modern to rustic. Expect bold, contemporary sculpture alongside finely crafted functional pieces, from monumental works of art to the perfect teacup.
Participating artists include Amy Brenner, Joy Brown, Lorimar Burns, Jessica Dubin, Stephanie Haines, Kathleen Heidemann, Jane Herold, Ann Heywood, Steve Johnson, Tom Knox, Alex Lebedev, Harry Levenstein, Bonnie Levine, Matin Malikzada, Drew Montgomery, Christine Owen, Alison Palmer, Sanah Petersen, Todd Piker, Lise Prown, Jackie Sedlock, Paula Shalan, Steven Sitrin, Will Talbot, and Jon Townley.
