Shelley Hassman Kadish
Midday HostAs a member of the WSHU Public Radio news team since 1991, Shelley Hassman-Kadish has worn many hats. But more importantly as far as listeners are concerned, Shelley is a trusted voice on WSHU.
When you’re a WSHU staff member, you’ve got to be willing to roll up your sleeves and go where you’re needed, and Shelley has done just that. She’s held most positions in the news department, including reporter, newscaster, and local host of the NPR newsmagazines.
These days, Shelley is the Midday Host on WSHU’s News/Talk stations. As a reporter Shelley has contributed to many different kinds of stories, including the regional effects of the first and second Gulf Wars and 9/11. On the pop culture front, she has interviewed members of the music group the Talking Heads, and broadcast a feature on Branford Marsalis which earned her an “Excellence in Journalism” award from the Connecticut Society of Professional Journalists.
